IPMS Gateway Chapter page for the Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers' Society/USA, a scale modeling club in St. Louis, Missouri. Louis, MO 63123.

Meet 3rd Tuesday, 7 pm, Affton Elks Lodge #2635, 6330 Heege Rd., St. The Gateway Chapter IPMS was formed by a small group of St. Louis area modelers in late 1975 and received its IPMS/USA charter in 1976. Meetings were held in a small room at the Des Peres Hobby Shop, with Del Miller as the Club's first president. Since then, the Club has grown to over 40 members. Club sponsored activities include

a variety of model contests at monthly meetings, model displays, kit raffles, and swap meets. The common interests among club members have created "Road Trips" to various modeling conventions, as well as to air shows and museums throughout the country. You will find many benefits as a member of IPMS Gateway. They include admittance to all club functions (including business meetings), and also eligibility to enter all local club contests. You will also receive the monthly newsletter, The Arch Scaler News, delivered to your home or e-mail inbox before the general club meeting. Club membership is honored at area hobby shops with some shops providing small discounts on purchases to members. Hobby shops require you show your current membership card to receive your discount. Of course, there are many intangible benefits from belonging to IPMS Gateway, such as sharing of modeling techniques, reference materials, trips, kit swapping and, in general, the camaraderie of friends who share your enjoyment of plastic modeling and the subjects modeled. Today, received certificates for his entries in the annual Missouri Professional Communicators (MPC) Communications Contest. He received two First Place awards: One for editing our newsletter, The Arch Scaler News, and the other for writing and distributing the press release for last year's Region 14 Contest. Bob also earned Second Place for his newsletter article on building the Frog 1:72 Vultee Vengeance Mk II kit. Both First Place entries are now eligible for honors in the Communications Contest, with awards to be bounced at the organization's National Workshop this September.

Wonderfest is coming up in Louisville, Ky. on 30-31 May for anyone interested in it.
