We're excited to share that 86% of the waste generated at Salam Day was diverted from the landfill! 🌎

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners and volunteers.

A special thank you to earthday365 for providing waste stations and for their diligent team, who helped us plan and implement a waste diversion strategy that made Salam Day as sustainable as possible.

We also want to recognize our amazing volunteers, who spent the day monitoring stations, sorting waste, and helping attendees properly dispose of their items. Their dedication behind the scenes made a tremendous impact.

Environmental stewardship is one of the core values of Salam Scouts, and we're proud to show our youth that caring for our communities includes caring for our planet.

Together, we proved that with a little planning and a lot of teamwork, large community events can leave a lighter footprint.🌎💚

When youth organizations come together, powerful things happen.

Salam Scouts, YAC- Youth Advancement Coalition, and Canaan Wellspring are joining forces for Kites for Palestine to honor the children of Gaza and empower young people to discover the impact their voices can have on shaping a more just future.

Change does not happen by accident. It happens when young people learn to raise their voices, serve their communities, and engage in civic action with purpose.

Now more than ever, our youth need opportunities to understand that they have the POWER to make a difference.

Through awareness, advocacy, and community engagement, we can help raise a generation that does not simply witness injustice, but works to create a better future.

From brave kids touching reptiles for the first time to families gathering around to learn fascinating facts, their show brought excitement, curiosity, and a whole lot of “WOW!” moments to Salam Day.

💚 What a day. What a community. What a beginning. Alhamdililah (Thank God).

Yesterday, families gathered for the very first Salam Day in Saint Louis, and we are still soaking it all in.

From guided nature walks and bee encounters to reptiles, service projects, outdoor adventures, community partner organizations, and countless smiles, Salam Day became everything we hoped it would be: a place where families could connect, learn, serve, and serve together.

To every volunteer, sponsor, vendor, organization, donor, troop leader, scout, parent, and attendee: thank you. This event was built by a community that believes in creating spaces where our Muslim youth can grow with confidence, curiosity, and compassion.

This was our first Salam Day, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our booth sponsors, financial sponsors, volunteers, and families who made it possible.
