Pianos for People Pianos for People is a St. Louis-based nonprofit organization that connects people who need pianos with pianos that need people. Louis and in Ferguson, Missouri.

We also operate two free piano schools - on Cherokee Street in South St. Pianos for People provides access to the transformative power of music for those who need it most. We do this by cultivating inspiration, education, enrichment and community, at no charge to those we serve.

🎹 Dinner, BBQ & live music—right in your living room! 🎶

We had an amazing time this past Friday helping throw a special party for one of our wonderful supporters! Our Executive Director, Andy, fired up the smoker and whipped up a delicious BBQ spread before joining forces with PFP Board Member Adaron “Pops” Jackson on piano and Jeffrey Anderson on bass for an intimate, one-of-a-kind concert—right in the living room! 🥁🎹

🎹 Melodies of Hope is back! 🎶

We’re thrilled to kick off the second cohort of our Melodies of Hope program, bringing the transformative power of music to residents at the St. Louis County Jail.

This fall, we’ll be working with another group of five residents, providing weekly piano instruction along with high-quality keyboards they can use to practice between classes.

We’re excited to see where their musical journeys take them and to continue creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth through music. ❤️🎵

As we continue highlighting some of our amazing community partners, today we’re shining the spotlight on Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic School in East St. Louis!

This year marks our fourth year partnering with Sr. Thea Bowman, and we’re thrilled to be back for another year of making music together. We offer two group piano classes each week, typically working with around 20 students throughout the school year.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring the joy and transformative power of music directly to students and to be part of the incredible community at Sr. Thea Bowman. We look forward to another great year of learning, playing, and making music together! 🎶💙

🎹 PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT: PETER MARTIN & ADAM MANESS 🎹

We’re thrilled to welcome back Peter Martin and Adam Maness to the lineup for this year’s Evening of 100 Fingers! These two incredible pianists have become a beloved part of our annual celebration, and we can’t wait to hear them take the stage again. 🎶

Peter Martin is an acclaimed jazz pianist and educator who has performed and recorded on six continents with legendary artists including Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, Betty Carter, Christian McBride, and Joshua Redman.

Adam Maness is a versatile pianist, arranger, composer, and producer whose performances, original compositions, and arrangements have been featured on numerous recordings and heard on national and international radio and television broadcasts.

Both Peter and Adam have been featured performers—and even hosts—at past Evening of 100 Fingers events, and we’re delighted to have them back for another unforgettable night of music!

🎹 Partner Spotlight: Sumner High School! 🏫

As we get back into the swing of another school year, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on some of our amazing community partners!

Today, we’re highlighting Sumner High School. In 2021, Pianos for People joined Sumner’s Pathways Program alongside several other incredible community organizations. Since then, we’ve been proud to offer a group piano class integrated into the school day, bringing the joy and transformative power of music directly to students.

We’re thrilled to be part of the Sumner community and to support students at such an amazing and historic St. Louis high school. We look forward to many more years of making music together! 🎶💙
