Hey everybody! Long time no talk... sorry we have been busy and scatterbrained!

We have some upcoming events such as a couple birthdays and Dura Mater Clubhouse's first public BBQ. Members, family, friends, and well, anyone who wants some delicious food.

Clubhouse has been business as usual. Our members are having a great time with only the occasional "Off-The-Rails" moments!

It is also to note that the Brain Injury Association of Missouri is putting on Bowling for Brain Injury. The Brain Injury Association is having their event at Olivette Lanes on Saturday, 13th at 12:00pm-2:00pm.

It is also Mental Health Awareness Month, which many people with brain injuries understand.

Our Clubhouse will try to post more frequently to keep you updated!

Dura Mater Clubhouse will close early today, 4/27, at 12 pm due to the severe weather threat. Stay safe everyone!

As Brain Injury Awareness Month draws to a close, our last member highlight is a doozy!

Matt is bright, capable, and creative. He is a talented writer and poet.

He’s funny… or at least thinks he is 😊

Matt writes, “My brain injury journey is working on my body and brain to achieve 'normalcy'.”

To us, he is normal! He works toward his goals and inspires others to do the same… members and staff alike.

Whatever he chooses to pursue in life, we look forward to seeing what he will accomplish in the future. OKIE DOKIE, MATT!!!

Z!

What a man! He's always working on his word games. They are quite challenging, even to the staff! We all have fun trying to find the words though.

He says, "My brain injury journey is very complicated. It's also messed up."

We all have our own complicated journey, and we would all agree. If it is not messed up, THAT would be messed up!!

Here he is, even though it took a couple tries to get the right shot!

Today, we are featuring a member who is another staple. He says he is "funny-ish", yet everyone knows he is very funny!

He primarily works on time management and everything that comes with it. Just thinking about it frustrates me.

He says, "I'm finding my way..."

We are all finding our ways and it looks different for all of us.

Next, we are featuring Ziyad, though he goes by "Z" here at the clubhouse.

Talk to those out there again!

The Clubhouse is finally getting some quick rest time after cooking burgers and onion rings and our daily cleaning!

With that said, time to start our afternoon work.

We would like to highlight the man who keep everyone on their toes.

He is a staple in the clubhouse and makes everyone enjoy their day much, much more. This man is Paul.

Paul says, "My brain injury journey is finding my sense of humor."
The clubhouse would agree and add to that.

That is all for today and in the future, highlight more members and try to reach out to other groups and organizations!

Wow, this Brain Injury Awareness Month has been interesting. Many events are coming up such as the Brain Bolt, Gala, and Adopt-A Roadway.

We will clean up our part of the roadway and some of our members have already signed up for the Brain Bolt, a mile, or 5K run/walk. There will also be volunteers, which we are very, very grateful for.

We will continue to feature our members of the Dura Mater Clubhouse. Our lucky member next will be Paul!!
