Mission Office - Archdiocese of St. Louis Supports the missionary work of the Catholic Church around the world The Mission Office aids the faithful of the Archdiocese of St. The Archdiocese of St.

Louis in their support of the missionary work of the Catholic Church around the world. One of the primary ways the Mission Office does this is through the support of the Pontifical Mission Societies. The Pontifical Mission Societies are a worldwide network at the service of the Holy Father to sustain the mission and the young Churches through prayer and charity. In his encyclical Redemptoris Missi

o, St. John Paul II says, “This must be our motto: All the Churches united for the conversion of the whole world” (84). The four Pontifical Mission Societies are: Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Missionary Childhood Association, St. Peter the Apostle, and Missionary Union of Priests and Religious. “The Societies bring to the Catholic world that spirit of universality and of service to the Church’s mission, without which authentic cooperation does not exist” (Redemptoris Missio 84). Guidelines for posting comments on the Archdiocese of St. Louis Mission Office page: We encourage you to ask questions and share news/opinions for other users on our page to read and engage in discussion about. O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus:

You know the longings of our hearts, and you desire that we enjoy friendship with you.

From your pierced side, you have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst.

Your heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with you.

We celebrate the abundant gifts you have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We make reparation for the offenses against you and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation.

May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed.

May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to your infinite love.

O Desire of Nations and Center of History, we ask you to bless these United States of America.

Who live and reign with God the Father

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

God, for ever and ever.

Amen.
