Queretaro Institute for the Empowerment of Children QIEC is a Missouri non-profit established to fund high-quality, bilingual education in Mexico.

QIEC es una organización sin fines de lucro establecida para financiar la educación bilingüe de alta calidad en Querétaro, México. At Queretaro Institute for the Empowerment of Children, our goal is fund schools that provide research-based, best practices so that every student succeeds, regardless of background. Our teachers work collaboratively to design inquiry-based units that spark our student

s’ imaginative, investigative, innovative and inventive minds. Our students develop abilities to understand cultures, think critically and work collaboratively to solve problems that they see in their own world. Students study core subjects in a constructive setting, in which concepts and questions are intertwined in holistic, integrated units, encompassing mathematics, literacy, science and technology. As a way of achieving this goal, our schools will apply for candidacy to the International Baccalaureate’s The Primary Years Programme (PYP), designed for learners aged 3-12, while aligning the schools’ curriculum with the IB world standards from the schools’ inception. Nuestro primer objectivo de Querétaro Institute for the Empowerment of Children, es financiar escuelas que ofrecen las mejores prácticas educativas basadas en la investigación, para que cada estudiante tenga éxito, independientemente de su situación social o económica. Nuestros profesores trabajan en colaboración para diseñar unidades basadas en la investigación que despiertan a las mentes imaginativas, investigativas, innovadores e inventivas de nuestros estudiantes. Nuestros alumnos desarrollan habilidades para comprender las culturas, pensar críticamente y trabajar en colaboración para resolver los problemas que ven en su propio mundo. Los estudiantes estudian las materias básicas en un ambiente constructivo, en que los conceptos y las preguntas se entrelazan en unidades holísticas, integradas, que abarcan las matemáticas, la alfabetización, la ciencia y la tecnología. Como una manera de lograr esta meta, nuestras escuelas aplicarán a la candidatura para el Programa de la Escuela Primaria (PEP) de la Organización del Bachillerato Internacional, diseñado para alumnos de 3-12 años, mientras que alineamos nuestro plan de estudios con los estándares mundiales del IB desde el inicio.

One of our goals this year was to find ways to increase parent involvement at our school in Mexico. One way to do that was to begin our weekly parent-student activity called "Genius Moves. We LOVE seeing our parents participate each week and share special moments with their children and forming part of the Genius Family!
