Green Beret Youth Initiative Green Beret Youth Initiative was founded in honor of Green Beret Master Sergeant Micheal B. Riley. GBYI operates successfully in St. Louis, MO.

Mike believed, “achievement is possible for everyone with a helping hand.” Transformational change within communities begins with the support in the individual: problem-solving, decision making, and assertiveness competences, which will lead to behaviors that influence the attitudes and norms of the communities as a whole. Mike believed, “achievement is possible for everyone with a helping hand.” His strong ties to St. Louis and commitment to the community continues to guide us today. The core mission of the Green Berets is to train and assist partner forces. We are using this model to turn the tide of the problems children and families face today and win together. We have a no fail attitude – MOVING FORWARD is our motto.

On June 27th in Wiesbaden, Germany, the community gathers for the Renaming Ceremony of the Gym and the annual WOD in Mike’s name — a moment of deep gratitude, and remembrance.
Mike´s legacy continues to move people across continents, and we are humbled by this special honoring.

A heartfelt shout‑out to Benny Brand, Mike’s DJ brother and friend, whose tireless heart keeps Mike’s name alive in every beat. Your loyalty means more than words to us.
