🖤 September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. 🖤
Mental health matters, and we all play a role in keeping our communities safe and supported. Knowing what to do can save a life.
The 3 R’s for su***de awareness and prevention are:
👀 1. RECOGNIZE
Pay attention to the warning signs. This includes sudden changes in behavior, withdrawing from loved ones, talking about feeling like a burden, or expressing hopelessness.
💬 2. RESPOND
Take action by stepping in and asking directly. Don't be afraid to ask, "Are you thinking about su***de?" Listen with empathy, without judgment, and keep them safe.
📞 3. REFER
Connect them to the right professional support. You don't have to carry the weight alone. Help is available 24/7.
