Thanks to our volunteers for getting tropical waterlilies planted and tidied up for the season ahead at the Jewel Box. As a reminder, no organized maintenance is planned for next Saturday, June 6, but otherwise 9 am on Saturdays are typical. New volunteers are always welcome - it’s easy and a good excuse to get outside for an hour or two on the weekend.

Hardy waterlilies pulled out of storage pond, moved, divided and placed in the display pools at the Jewel Box, Forest Park, St. Louis. A bit rainy and very muddy and we all smell like swamp, but all good. Thanks to all our volunteers!

The season at the Jewel Box began this morning with SLWGS members preparing pots for next week, when we will retrieve pots of hardy waterlilies currently in the storage pond by the Korean War Memorial, divide them, replant and drop pots into the Jewel Box pools. Water temps in the pools are still below 70°, so too cool for tropicals yet. Thanks all for your help!
