In celebration of School Lunch Hero Day, Care to Learn is welcoming donations to help Bayless School District families pay off unpaid student meal charges.
Bayless School District currently has outstanding student meal balances across all schools. Some of the outstanding fees can be attributed to changes made to the U.S. Department of Agriculture eligibility guidelines for free and reduced-price meals. Some families who qualified in previous school years did not qualify again this year, often by a small margin.
Care to Learn allows people to make donations online to help these families with the cost of meals. The district social worker, school principals, and counselors will determine how to allocate funds based on their awareness of families in need.
