Who We Are and Our Values:
Happy Bar Foundation is an organization that provides a tasty healthy peanut protein rich snack bar - HAPPY BAR - to hungry children in India. It is an organization inspired by people who strongly believe that underprivileged in our societies deserve an equitable chance at life. Our goal is to produce protein snacks for children and establishment of micro- businesses for
unemployed men and women in India. Happy Bar Foundation is a registered company in Bangalore India. Our Mission:
Address the nutritional challenges for the undernourished including children and the aged. The Problem:
In India the diet of the poor population is high in carbohydrates and low in protein leading to malnutrition. Protein deficit leads to stunting, sub-optimal neurological and intellectual development and inability to repair tissue. Proteins are the building blocks of cells and are critical for healthy body function. Our Solution:
Current donations are feeding roughly over 2500 children and over 250 aged in leprosy colonies across Tamil Nadu, a leprosy hospice in Coimbatore, and an AIDS orphanage, slum schools in Bangalore India, childrenβs programs in Shillong, Andra Pradesh, and Orissa and Vallur Hospital in Tamil Nadu. Our goal is to seek corporate and individual collaborators to expand our outreach to many more needy children. Long Term Goal:
Produce and donate 50,000 Happy Bars per month. We have donated over almost 1,000,000 Happy Bars since 2015 and are currently giving about about 7500 Happy Bars per week based on donations.
