Pride Month reflects something similar in our communities: people and movements are stronger when individuals can show up fully and authentically. It’s also a moment to recognize that access, safety, and belonging in our communities and public places, including the outdoors, are not a given for everyone. For many, being visible and fully themselves has not always been safe or possible, which is part of why visibility, celebration, and belonging continue to matter.

The environmental and progressive movements would not be where they are today without the efforts of q***r leaders, advocates, organizers, and changemakers, past and present, who continue to move this work forward.

Happy Pride Month!

from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri

"Your donations in action! Thanks to support from the MO Sierra Club and our community we've launched our summer stewardship watering program at O'Fallon Park. Today we watered over 180 trees in just under three hours using a combination of pumps, hydrants, buckets, and wagons. Imagine how much we can accomplish once the new 100-foot hose arrives!

Young tree care and stewardship is a critical part of making sure the trees we plant in our community thrive. The trees in your life could probably use a drink too- a good rule of thumb is to give a young trees 5-10 gallons per inch of trunk.
Want to get involved with watering at the park? We'll be hosting workdays throughout the summer on Friday mornings. Email [email protected] for more information."

A win for clean energy in Missouri!

"In its approval order, the commission said Missouri needs additional electric generation to replace aging energy resources and meet increasing electricity demand tied to economic development."

Missouri regulators approved Ameren Missouri’s 250-megawatt solar project in Callaway County.

We had a wonderful expedition in the Bryant Creek watershed this week, starting with a tour of regenerative + organic Flotsam Farm, followed by a float on the Bryant Creek, and ending with a day of restoration work to clear invasive cedars from the glade at Bryant Creek State Park. We topped off the day with a tour of the portion of the park that is not yet open to the public. Our outing supported Missouri State Parks in restoring the natural glade ecosystem and moving phases 2 & 3 towards opening to the public!
Thanks everyone who came out to explore, enjoy and protect our public lands!
