Today has been a day of deep reflection. I received about 25 calls from supporters of the Slow Down St. Louis campaign, all asking why the Urban League continues to push my campaign despite receiving a cease and desist letter. They have ignored my attorney and refused to address the issue. James Clark and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis are acting like bullies. They think that because they have a bigger budget, they can stomp on me and my small organization.

Even my alderperson has ganged up with them. I tried to contact her, and she blocked me on Facebook. Her name is Laura McElrath Keys, and she is the alderwoman of Ward 11. I have over 600 followers on social media and countless real-life supporters who believe in what I’m trying to achieve. Yet, they are trying to take everything I’ve worked for and bully me into submission.

🚗💨 Important Update from Slow Down Missouri

Hello, Slow Down Missouri Community,

We want to address a recent development that many of you might have noticed. There has been some confusion regarding a new campaign called "Slow Down St. Louis," initiated by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Regional Business Council, which shares a name with our longstanding initiative.

Since [Original Launch Date], Slow Down Missouri has been at the forefront of promoting road safety with our "Slow Down St. Louis" campaign. Our efforts have focused on making our streets safer and educating our community about the risks of reckless driving.

We value every effort to enhance road safety and applaud any initiative that aims to reduce traffic incidents. However, it's crucial that such campaigns are clear and distinct to prevent public confusion and ensure each organization's hard work is recognized appropriately.

We are currently in discussions with the involved parties to resolve the overlap in campaign names amicably. Our goal is to continue our work effectively and without public confusion.

We'll keep you updated as we make progress, and we thank you for your ongoing support and passion for making Missouri roads safer. Your support empowers us to keep pushing for meaningful change and safety in our community.
