We are sad to announce that QaNDI will not have a booth next weekend at Tower Grove Pride. 😥

This was due to an error on our part, and is no reflection upon the festival or its organizers. They're still the best.

If you think the culture of drag begins and ends with RuPaul, class is now in session—and your instructor is dressed for the occasion. 💅

J Davenport (GRS ‘17, musicology), known to her fans as “Dr. Lady J," has made a name for herself as the first drag queen with a PhD dissertation on drag history.

Since graduating from CWRU five years ago, Davenport has taught classes on the topic everywhere from bars and hotel conference rooms to high schools and colleges.

"Many people don’t understand the role drag has played in shaping our culture," said Davenport. "There’s a lot more to it than makeup and lip-syncing. I love to show people that this is a real art form with its own history and lineage, and that it is worth supporting as such."

In honor of , we sat down with DrLady J Davenport to hear about her latest projects, drag's impact on her gender identity journey and how she is shining a light on marginalized communities in the industry. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
