It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Retired Captain Norman Corley, an esteemed and dedicated member of our team from 27th of June 1990 through 31st of December 2017 when he retired at 27 years 6 months. Captain Corley’s unwavering commitment and service have left an undeniable mark on our agency and the community.

Throughout his career, which began in 1980 with his completion of EMT school while he was a senior at Northwest High School. He obtained his paramedic schooling through East Central College and his bachelor's in education from Fontbonne. Our Community, North Jefferson County Ambulance District, St. Louis Community College and area emergency agencies were fortunate to have close to 40 years of excellence from Captain Corley as an EMT, Paramedic and an educator. Captain Corley exemplified the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and dedication to not only our agency, but the Greater St. Louis region through thousands of educational offerings and students he taught. His contributions have been invaluable, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of learning from him, knowing and working with him.

In this time of mourning, we encourage everyone to support one another and hold their loved ones close, “as you never know what tomorrow may bring”. Captain Corley’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we move forward.

We extend our deepest condolences to Captain Corley’s family, friends, and Emergency Professionals family.

Further details about memorial services will be shared as they become available.

Jamie Guinn posted this, wanted to let everyone know.

Friends, I’m posting at the request of Norman Corley’s spouse. I’ve had several calls and yes it is true, Norm had a stroke and is in the ICU. Right now it is going to be hour by hour, great thoughts and prayers for Norm and family would greatly be appreciated! Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like anything passed on.

Update on Norm’s status,
For the time being it is status quo, still on vent in ICU, awaiting on MRI and consultation with Neruo! I’ll post updates when we know more.

🎁☃️12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS 🎁☃️

A man who has given so much to support & honor fellow First Responders could use some of that good will in return this holiday season.

When Officer Mike Flamion was shot and paralyzed in 2016, Mark created an event called Mike Flamion Hotdogs With Heroes. In the wake of a painful time, he wanted to show our local Heroes just how much love & support the community has for them. The first event raised over $34k.

They formally established the non-profit Code 3 Response in 2018 to assist area First Responders who were critically injured in the line of duty or have suffered a catastrophic life event. Mark and his wife, Lauren, continue to hold the event annually and have raised nearly $500k.

At present, the Gilliams are facing an unimaginable challenge. Their son James has Addison's disease and son Charlie has Koolen de Vries syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that requires 24 hr care. This year has been particularly hard as Mark’s mom passed as well. They need every ounce of kindness this world can provide. Our 12 Days of Christmas campaign will solely focus on the Gilliam family. Please consider giving back this holiday season.

David Fenacis: On April 2nd, 2020, I lost the greatest dad ever to cancer. My dad was a hero and not just the dad kind. He was a Captain with the Mehlville Fire Department and there is no way of knowing how many countless lives he protected or saved, but if you believed half of my dad's story...it was a lot! Unfortunately, not all of us were born heroes, but we all have the capacity to help one another and below could be your opportunity. There is a co****le tournament being thrown on Oct 16th by a charity that supports first responders and their families battling occupational cancer in the St Louis area. There are still team sign ups available and if you don't want to play, donations are welcome or you can attend the event and bid on the silent auction items. Thanks for reading this far and don't forget to hug a firefighter today! (mental hugs count)

Come join us on October 16th at noon for what should be another great year of co****le, friends, and fun at the Oakville Sports Pub!This co****le tournament will feature 32 two-person teams in a double-elimination format.  Please arrive by 11:30 to determine your court assignment and start time...
