On Thursday, April 20, St. Louis County Police Chief Gregory, Lt. Colonel Law, and detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department testified in Jefferson City in support of State Representative Justin Sparks’ HB 1158 which increases the penalty for those who choose to flee from police in a vehicle, causing a risk to others on the roadway. “Valentine’s Law”, as it’s being called, was proposed after Detective Antonio Valentine was killed in the line of duty on December 1, 2021, by a suspect who fled police. Detective Valentine’s daughter accompanied her dad’s co-workers to Jeff City.
