AACS had an AMAZING time at the 2026 Chuseok Festival hosted by Gateway Korea Foundation at Tower Grove Park! There was so much food, crafts, dance, music, and representation!! In addition to sharing our work on voter education and mental health, we also connected with many over our love for kpop!!

We are excited to launch the newest issue of the AAPI Experience, guest-edited by Marquette High School’s East Asian Student Association! East Asian Student Association
This summer issue is centered around 2026—the Year of the Horse—and features stories about Asian Culinary, Culture and Community, and Talent in their community.

Be sure to also read the op-ed by Ed Shew, a St Louis born Chinese American author and civil rights activist, on the importance of youth engagement in the political process.

The AACS History team had an amazing annual research camp this week! This year we focused on a deeper dive of the lives of the Chinese buried between the 1920-1960 at Valhalla Cemetery. We will be presenting this work at the Missouri Historical Society on Friday October 9th, so mark your calendars! Special shout out to our WashU bound Ivy Liao Ivy Liao for going to the camp. Thank you Library & Research Center for hosting us!

In May we supported the documentary screening hosted by St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund Dr. Liu joined moderator Michelle Li, documentary producer Dr. Changfu Chang, and Rorke Chhouk of Monarch Immigrant Services for a panel discussion about community needs and resources here in our region. Congrats to team esp Ming Saelee for hosting this impactful event and we are always grateful to help lift up this important community conversation about mental health!
