Dear Cactus and Succulent Society Member,
I’m writing to be you about the 19th Biennial Mid States Cactus and Succulent Conference that is scheduled for June 26, 27th, and 28th in San Antonio, Texas. That’s only four short months away! This email includes details about the conference. I am attaching a number of helpful links that you will need to share with your members.
The conference will take place at the San Antonio Garden Center, which is adjacent to the San Antonio Botanical Garden; both are located a short drive from the San Antonio International Airport. San Antonio is a destination city and very tourist friendly. There are many sites and experiences for you and your members to enjoy while you are here.
The theme of the Conference is the North American Deserts. We have recruited five speakers who will share their experiences and knowledge about these amazing deserts. The three day event will include the didactic sessions, vendor plant sales, members only raffle, live plant auction, and more. We are including a new feature to this year’s event called the Educational Display Showcase. We are encouraging every club to participate in the Showcase. See the link below to learn more.
Registration for the Conference is now open. The online link for the is attached below. The registration fee for the entire three day event is only $95. The event on Friday night is for attendees only and will include a barbecue dinner and cash bar. The cost of the dinner is not included in the registration fee, and is only $25 per person. Breakfast and lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are included in the registration fee. Cancellations received by May 31st will be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee. After this date, registration fees are non-refundable.
We have prepared a Conference flyer that you can publish in your newsletter, share on social media, or print. We’ve also included the link to our Conference Guidebook, which gives more detail about the schedule, speakers and vendors, the Educational Display Showcase, hotel accommodations, conference merchandise, and tourist information. We are using Hilton properties for hotel sleeping rooms.
