Lets talk self care ✨❤️

As the days grow darker, it is more important than ever to check in with yourself. How are you feeling in your body, mind, and spirit? During busy times of year, it can be hard to make time for yourself, which is essential to stay healthy and productive. Taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of loved ones, but it can be easy to forget. We encourage members of our Rustic Roots Sanctuary family to spend some time outside, reconnect with friends or family, or tidy up your living space for a mood boost on these upcoming darker days.

As winter approaches, we recognize the strength of our community, and how your support has helped our organization grow. As a farm, we seek to produce food, but also be a resource of natural healing spaces for anyone who may need it.

This year has been full of a lot of change and uncertainty, and we are so so grateful to have had our community's support through it all. Today we would like to express our profound gratitude to every single person who contributes to our mission--whether that means volunteering, stopping by the market, shopping online, or sharing our posts with a friend. Every bit of your participation and support helps us in our mission to bring accessible, quality fresh food to North County! 🥬
While we take time to rest and spend time with loved ones today, we are reminded of the power of community. The work we do would not be possible without the consistent support, participation, and blessings of our community-- in Spanish Lake, North County, and beyond. Rustic Roots Sanctuary has a variety of animals from goats to ponies to chickens, all living here in harmony. Sometimes, they get curious and will sniff around to check each other out. Check out this rare moment of Divinity (cat) and Cooper (bunny) hanging out in the barn! Natures' Medicine at Rustic Roots Sanctuary! ❤️

Does that spiky plant in the second photo look familiar? You might be more used to seeing the root, because that plant is ginger! At RRS, we preserve our turmeric and ginger into frozen drops for easy consumption. Ginger and Turmeric have all kinds of antioxidant and healing properties. These drops can be made into a healing tea or added to soup or curry for a medicinal boost. This Thursday we would like to highlight how much our produce bag program has grown in the past 3 years. The first two photos are from 2022 of our farm managers Kari and Eric packing senior bag. The second two photos are from summer 2025 of our full farm team (including summer interns) packing ~45 bags for seniors and young families weekly. We are so thankful for the community support that has made this expansion possible, and we look forward to getting even more food out into our community in future years.

Meet Divinity! 🐈‍⬛ Divinity is our farm cat, and a very important member of our team (even though he isn't much farming help). Divinity is about 4 years old and is one of the many animals that call Rustic Roots Sanctuary home. Divinity loves to follow around our farmers as they work, and will occasionally stop to say hi at our markets. We love that Rustic Roots Sanctuary is not only a sanctuary for humans, but for animals too.

LAST Spanish Lake Farmers Market for the year happening TOMORROW from 9am-1pm! Stop by 11735 Eckert Lane to shop in person for the last time this season, we will have a variety of fall produce available. We will miss our Saturday markets after this week, so if you want to come out and see the farm don't miss this chance. We can't wait to see everyone on the farm tomorrow! ☀️
