Help Us Crossing the Finish Line: Warm Hearts & Safe Nights for St. Louis Kids

Have you ever heard the old saying, “I’m throwing in the towel!”?
What’s the opposite of that? We’re grabbing that towel, rolling up our sleeves, and using it to wipe away every ounce of doubt or negativity.

When looking at the funding dilemma we’re facing right now at Valor Villages, some might see it as taking two steps forward and one step back. But guess what? We are still one step ahead.
We are fighting with everything we have to open the doors of our new Children’s Home before the cold Missouri winter sets in. Our team and volunteers have poured their hearts into this building:

• Remodeled and deep-cleaned interior spaces
• Installed comprehensive security and camera systems
• Cleared and restored the outdoor property grounds

We are so close—yet right now, we cannot pass our occupancy inspection because the basement furnaces were stripped.
What We Need to Open the Doors To complete the home and clear our final inspection, we urgently need:

• 3 New Furnace Units to keep the children warm
• A New Property Fence for outdoor safety and privacy
• Tuckpointing to restore and protect the exterior brickwork

We’ve launched a $50,000 fundraiser on Zeffy to fund these critical heating and structural repairs, with a small cushion for final touches to make the space feel like home.

We are growing in many ways. But most of all, we are growing in how to best serve God's people. Since Valor Medica opened in March of this year, they have served MANY of Valor Village's Veterans, underserved and homeless.

We have some incredible news to bring you!! Padda Institute and Valor Villages is doing a Horticulture Retaining Program that pairs quite-by-design a vocational training with a tallgrass prairie restoration and a planned green roof in Woodson Terrace.

We launch TODAY, a Horticulture Worker Retraining Program, a vocational re-entry pathway build for Veterans who's PTSD and anxiety make ordinary job-site training unworkable - particularly those who struggle with the opening minutes of social contact and with sudden, unpredictable noise.

We need people to sit one on one and complete Assessment Forms on each of that come forward for help. None of us are paid. I wish we were, but right now.... This is our path. Please help!

We try so hard, but it isn’t up to us. You’ve heard me say many times:
They have to want help more than we want it for them.

And the hardest thing to do, is to have to “let go”. They is no pushing, begging or demanding.

We honor the greatest gift God has given us……. The gift to CHOOSE.

With helping obtain ID, birth certificate, social security card, medical insurance, temporary housing, ……. Detox, rehab, mental healthcare, PTSD, food, clothing, jobs, and even help with disability paperwork……. So much more.

Each individual is unique. And we sit down one on one to Assess How Valor Villages can HELP. Then we move forward on a plan of action….. for a more stable and productive life.

After all…… “It Takes a Village!”
