We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of James Roseberry.

James was a passionate champion for sustainable buildings across our region and as an active member and leader within the Missouri Gateway Green Building Council community. In his roles as board member (2021-2026), board chair (2024), Education Committee member and former Program Committee Chair (2009 & 2010), James contributed his time and talent to strengthening our community and advancing understanding and implementation of green building practices across the AEC industry. He helped develop and implement many educational programs – both as a presenter and behind the scenes – where his curiosity and insight shaped thoughtful and impactful conversations. As a board member, he brought creativity and vision to our rebranding effort in 2022-23 and our 25 Year Anniversary Celebrations this year.

James has been a cherished member of our community, contributing countless hours to support our goal of making every building a green building. In his approach to green buildings and design, he led with passion and compassion, helping people recognize the importance of sustainability while addressing their needs at the same time. James’ kindness, humility and joyful spirit was always inviting people into this work.

Submit a drawing of a green building located in MGGBC’s geographic area, which includes St. Louis Metro Area (MO & IL), central Missouri, southeast Missouri, and Southern Illinois. We’d love to showcase your favorite building with a green certification (LEED, SITES, WELL, etc.) or one or more green attributes. Check out our website for submission guidelines and inspiration!

All ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate! Selected drawings will be featured in our coloring book celebrating 25 years of green building impact and innovation across our region.

We had a wonderful (if rainy) Member Social last Friday, sprucing up the garden at Washington Montessori Elementary at St. Louis Public Schools. Washington Montessori was in the direct path of last May's tornado - students were relocated for a semester while repairs were made on the building. We were excited to help repair the garden and give back to our community in honor of our 25th Anniversary.

We had so many MGGBC members, partners and participants pitch in - from joining us on Friday to shovel mulch, w**d and plant to making donations. Thanks to all our volunteers and to Greenscape Gardens for donating sensory garden & pollinator plants and to St. Louis Composting, Inc.sting for waiving the mulch delivery fee!
