We are still recovering from the dance party on Friday night but we could not let the weekend go by without saying thank you to those who attended and truly moving in the spirit of

Every single person in the room danced from the start of the night until the end!! And a time was had!

🗣️ St. Louis! How ya feeling, how ya doing? We’re looking forward to seeing how you all step out to Soul Train at Soul Shed 2024 this Friday at !

Peace St. Louis! Soul Train at Soul Shed 2024 is bringing the party to Fox 2 News and we want to bring some of you all along with us!

We’re looking for 8 volunteers to join us for our featured segment happening Monday, September 16th at 9am.

Here’s what you need to know:

* Must be available between 7-9:30am day of
* Must dress in 70’s themed fashion
* MUST BE WILLING TO SHAKE YOUR GROOVE THANG ON LIVE TELEVISION

Mark your calendars for the dance party of the year! 2024 will bring you the 2nd installment of Soul Train at Soul Shed and we hope you are ready to move!

Inspired by the 1970’s classic television series, prepare for a night of non-stop dancing, interactivity and a competition to claim yourself as the Best Dressed and Best Dancer in St. Louis!

Kre8 Place will be hosting us for the night and the lovely MAXA will be our official “Administrator of the Groove” as the DJ of the evening.

Last week and Soul Shed STL, partnered to host a Music Community Town Hall to discuss the current state of St. Louis Music. We talked about the direction in which we as a group would like to take it and how we could get there.

Now when we say WE, we’re referring to the musicians, the educators and advocates across industries who work tirelessly in contributing to this infrastructure and ensuring that our music history and culture remains alive.

There were many concerns raised by attendees such as fair pay for musicians, developing proper relationships between the musicians and DJ’s, and the mistreatment of musicians by our local institutions and venues. This conversation and our agreed upon actions will continue.

We recognize that everyone was not able to make it to the In-person Town Hall and have decided to host a follow-up Town Hall virtually on March 7th. If you would like to be a part of the conversation please register at the link in our bio and join us then.

Peace Shedders! Last month we pulled together as a community and visited the “St. Louis Sound Exhibit” that was showing at the and rediscovered the history of St. Louis music. After viewing the exhibition we congregated and discussed what we saw, what we liked and how does this history affect us today?

In an effort to continue building upon that discussion, Soul Shed and will be hosting a Music Community Town Hall to have an open forum, present our plan for future meetups + programming and how you can get involved.

In preparation for our community outing to the St. Louis Sound Music Exhibition at the this Saturday “Let’s Talk!”

Founder of Soul Shed STL, Jermarco Britton, and Founder of Julian Keaton, will be going live tonight to talk about St. Louis Music History and Culture and their respective experiences apart of that culture.

We are welcoming all to sit in and join the conversation and share their knowledge and experiences as well. Tune in this evening at 8:30pm CST. See you all then!

Peace Shedders! We hope you all have been enjoying the start of the new year. We know it’s been awhile but we are still here.

This year we’ll be looking to highlight just how rich the history and music culture in St. Louis truly is. In light of this, Soul Shed & are inviting the entire community out for a group outing to visit the St. Louis Sound exhibit at on Jan 21st to reconnect, discover and discuss all things St. Louis music!
