Giving is a Family Tradition (GiFT) GiFT's mission is to empower NICU families. GiFT is a 501(c)3 federal tax exempt nonprofit organization run by volunteers.

We foster resilience, hope, and healing during and after the NICU journey through education, providing critical infant care supplies, and cultivating community.

Today, we join our partners at Project Sweet Peas in shining a light on NICU babies and their families - not just today, but throughout a journey that can continue long after they leave the hospital. 🏥

For every tiny baby who spends time in the NICU, there is a family learning how to navigate fear, uncertainty, hope, and everything in between. There are parents waiting for milestones, siblings adjusting to a new reality, grandparents worrying from near and far, and countless people working to give these babies the best possible start. 💜

Today, we remember just how much these families carry - and how much it means when a community chooses to stand beside them. 🤲

💚 Today is NICU Sibling Support Day 💚

Today, we join our partners at Project Sweet Peas in recognizing the brothers and sisters who experience the NICU journey alongside their families. 💜

When a baby is in the NICU, siblings may not always understand why their family looks different or why their new brother or sister can't come home. They may miss their parents, wonder when things will feel normal again, and have big feelings of their own. And yet, they also learn about love, patience, strength, and what it means to be part of a family through difficult times. 🤗

To all the NICU siblings - your hearts matter, your feelings matter, and you are an important part of the journey too. 💕

The MOMS Line sponsored the childcare and Lyft concierge services for the event, helped facilitate the reservation and use of the auditorium, and sent volunteers to lend a hand throughout the afternoon. 🚗👶

Today, we join our partners at Project Sweet Peas in saying THANK YOU to the incredible people who care for NICU babies and their families. 💜

From the first breath to the first bottle, the first weight gain to the first time a baby gets to go home, NICU staff are there for countless tiny victories - and all the difficult moments in between. 🍼🩺

Their knowledge, compassion, patience, and dedication make a difference not only in the lives of the tiniest patients, but in the lives of the families who love them. 👐

To every NICU nurse, doctor, therapist, social worker, and member of the NICU team - thank you for everything you do, every single day. 🥰

💚 What a fun afternoon with the GiFT family 💜

Yesterday, GiFT brought NICU families, volunteers, supporters, and friends together at SSM Health - St. Louis St. Mary’s Hospital for a special family-friendly afternoon celebrating "NICU Awareness Month". Our NICU Advisor Team helped make the event possible, with volunteers welcoming families, setting up snacks and refreshments, helping everyone find their way, and even providing childcare for some of our littlest guests while families enjoyed the movie. 🎬🍿

We watched "The Boss Baby", enjoyed some snacks, spent time together, and most importantly, created a space where NICU families could simply relax, have fun, and be surrounded by people who understand the NICU journey. Our founder, Jennifer Krassinger, also shared more about GiFT, our work with NICU families, and the incredible community of volunteers and supporters who make this work possible. 🥰

Throughout the afternoon, we were reminded of just how many people are part of the GiFT family - from the volunteers behind the scenes, to the sponsors who help make our work possible, and the families who have shared their own Destination Home stories. 🤝

A special thank you to the MO MOMS Line 314-768-Moms for helping make the afternoon possible! They helped arrange transportation for families who needed it and coordinated volunteers to provide babysitting during the event. We are so grateful for the extra support they provided to help families enjoy the afternoon together. 🫶

It was a wonderful reminder that GiFT isn't just about what happens when a family leaves the hospital. It's about building community, creating connections, and continuing to show up for NICU families along the way. 🏥 ➡️ 🏠
