Choreographer Rollout! 📣 Last but not least, for our 2026-2027 guest artist roster: We are excited to once again bring to STL an award-winning, San Francisco-based choreography, dancer, and director: Dexandro Montalvo. ✨

Dexandro brings a movement aesthetic that blends ballet, modern dance, and hip-hop, pushing the boundaries of musicality and physicality. Montalvo’s work for STLDT will mark his second commission for the company, following Such Sweet Thunder, which he created in 2019.

Choreographer Rollout! 📣 Up next for 2026-2027: A brilliant artist whose choreography treats ballet as a living language, reshaping classical vocabulary with contemporary urgency: Houston Thomas. 👏✨

According to , Houston is part of a new generation of choreographers who seek not to impose their aesthetic onto dancers but to develop a distinct movement idiom in collaboration with each ensemble.

“Every creation process is specific to those people. They bring themselves into it, which I hope…allows them to feel responsible and have some type of connection to the work.”
