North Pole Project of St. Louis

North Pole Project of St. Louis We are a small, 501c3 organization that grants holiday wishes to St. Louis area children. Louis. In 2010, it all started with helping just two families.

The Ward family has always held a strong belief in giving back to their community. Their love of children and Christmastime lead to the creation of the North Pole Project of St. Though we originally had no intention of growing past that, it was clear a greater need existed. The Ward & Lazerware families and all their friends joyfully provided the help we needed to serve more families. We have grow

n, but we keep it small, yet mighty; helping about 15 families and 40 children each year. By staying small, we can provide a truly unique experience that inspires the entire family. We take the time to learn about the family and children. We know their names, interests, favorite school subject and teacher. It’s not just what the children want, but what the family so desperately needs. Its everything from Christmas wishes to day to day necessities. Every in-home visit is personalized and a life-changing moment for everyone. We personally deliver each family what can only be described as a combination of a Broadway production and magic show. The orchestrated visit by Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves is one filled with compassion, magic and love. Santa knows things about the children only parents would know. Reindeer food magically appears. Children are left with a sense of amazement and excitement. For the first time in their lives, Christmas wishes are granted. The parents can finally relax, knowing Christmas this year will be a delight, full of joy, laughter and hope. This year, the children will have personalized presents, plus a new coat and shoes. The house will have a decorated tree and Christmas Day will be celebrated with a full traditional dinner. It may not seem like much to those more fortunate, but Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves can attest to the power of giving. They know something so simple can change a child’s life. Caring makes a difference and you can help. North Pole Project is a 100% volunteer workforce. Every item and dollar donated go towards helping the children and families.

Spring is just one month away but we know a little girl who was dreaming about flowers in December!

Each Christmas season Santa gets a unique gift request & calls on his dedicated elves for help. When a cute little girl told Santa she dreamed about a pink magic wand that created flowers, Santa fought back a tear & promised that he could grant her wish. He then returned to the North Pole, & sent out a panicked call for help to his committed elves who love Christmas as much as he does. Days later a talented elf delivered a pink magic wand decorated with charms, flower seeds with instructions for planting & the magic words to say over the seeds to help them grow.
These magical Christmas stories remind us of the impact our work has on families year round!

A weekend of home visits is always a special time of meeting families who are grateful to receive any type of support. A recent Saturday was especially magical for all of us as we gave & received the spirit of Christmas.

Our elves Twinkle & Berry are skilled at a magic trick where they make reindeer food disappear from one box & appear in another. After performing this trick during a family visit a little boy blurted out “Can you make my mom disappear?…..well, just for a few minutes?”

At the next home we were entertained by 2 cute girls who sang for us. When they told us what they’d like Santa to bring, one girl asked for a pink magic wand. She slowly explained that the wand should be pink with sparkly hearts & be able to make flowers. Santa hasn’t had this request before but his elves are a talented crew!

After a day of home visits Santa always treats the elves to a snack & drink at QuikTrip. Sometimes while we’re there the staff shares their Christmas wishes or we give kids in the store a magic bell. This visit was a much different experience as a good Samaritan customer gave the elves a gift card for a free dinner at Texas Roadhouse. The elves were shocked & Mrs. Claus stepped in & thanked the man for his generosity. After we all chose our snacks & drinks & took pictures with staff we approached the counter to pay. Again the man stepped forward & said “Santa let me get this.” I said no that wasn’t necessary but he insisted saying “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Tha magic of Christmas was certainly in the air.

One of our families just contacted us to ask for emergency help. In addition to other challenges this holiday season their gas stove quit working. They are desperately in need of a replacement stove measuring 29”x 3/4 wide (standard width is 30”) Please contact us if you are able to help purchase a stove for this family. A quick search shows prices of $550-650. We believe Christmas miracles happen!

All of the children Santa meets are special, but this little one really warmed his heart. While trying to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas she pulled off his hat & was surprised to see his bald head. Santa struggled to understand what she was saying until he finally realized she wanted a hippopotamus for Christmas! Santa & Mrs. Claus make sure every child’s wish is fulfilled & this little cutie will surely find a hippo under the tree on Christmas morning.
