Missouri Women's Chorus

The Missouri Women’s Chorus makes its return to live, in-person music this Holiday Season with O Holy Night on Sunday, December 12th at 5:00PM in the Union Avenue Christian Church Sanctuary [733 N. Union Blvd, STL 63108]. The halls will be decked and music will fill the air as the chorus, under the direction of Scott Schoonover, presents touching and powerful arrangements of familiar carols with N

ancy Mayo on the piano and organ. Holiday favorites will abound as we welcome audiences to the spirit of the season with selections including: “O Holy Night” arr. LeBas, “I Saw Three Ships” arr. Carey, “Gesú Bambino” arr. Ringwald, “What Sweeter Music” John Rutter, and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” arr. Hawryluk. The concert will conclude with Randall Thompson’s hauntingly beautiful “Nowel.”

Additionally, the space will be adorned in poinsettias of varying sizes and colors which will be for sale after the concert as a special fund raiser for the chorus. The Missouri Women’s Chorus is committed to the safety of its singers and its audience. Only 175 tickets will be available (650 capacity) to allow physical distancing of at least one seat between parties and advance reservations are strongly recommended. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at missiourwomenschorus.org – day of ticket sales are not guaranteed and subject to availability. Upon arrival, ticket holders will be asked to show proof of vaccination, or a current negative COVID-19 test before entering the facility. Furthermore, the choir will perform masked, utilizing the VocalEase singer’s mask, developed right here in St. Louis, which allow for clarity of sound while providing protection to singers and audiences alike – making concerts like this possible.
