Hello Shamblers!
It is with a heavy heart and very late that I must inform you all that St. Louis Zombie Walk 2014 will not be occurring this year. Patient 1 and I are expecting our first unborn undead to arrive almost exactly a week before what was intended to be the Walk weekend. It has been far more important in our life beyond the graves to prepare for that, and make zero promises of our time afterwards.
In addition, with the recent events of Northern St. Louis and media inflammation thereto, having any organized gathering has been more troublesome than it was before. A flash mob or a themed walk is easily able to turn into trouble right now, and for the sake of everyone involved, I don’t want any trouble.
Do not misunderstand me, however. I still enjoy putting this on. Despite waning attendance and changes to the way that the word is spread around, this has always been one of the highlights of my year. I’m seen people scream, I’ve seen children laugh. I’ve even seen two zombies get engaged. We’re going to need help, but we absolutely intended on doing this again in 2015, especially if the interest is there.
In summation, we’re sorry, but it’s not going to happen this year. It will be bigger and better next year. Bide thy time, walkers.
