Bocce, Community & Giving Back!

What a great day of bocce and Italian American camaraderie! On August 1, the Italia America Bocce Club hosted a tournament bringing together Italian organizations from across St. Louis, including Hill 2000, Misericordia, the Sicilian Club, Italian Open, Italian Club and the Hill Business Association.

Congratulations to the winning team of Joe Grippi, Maria Grippi, Laura Ilardi and Joe Bulla!

Even better, the tournament gave back to our community. Proceeds were donated to the Missouri Historical Society to support its upcoming Migration and Memory Initiative, which will preserve and share the stories of immigrants and refugees who helped shape St. Louis. A $1,000 donation was presented to the History Museum on August 10.

It’s a wonderful example of what happens when St. Louis’ Italian American community comes together—with a little friendly competition and a whole lot of heart!

Interested in staying up-to-date about ZOUP? Attend one of these upcoming neighborhood sessions!

The work to update the City's zoning code - or ZOUP - continues. Two upcoming workshops will give residents, business owners, and community leaders an opportunity to review updated draft zoning maps, districts and uses, and administrative standards. One of the workshops is in North Hampton.

The public open house events are:
* Tuesday, September 29, at the Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being and
* Wednesday, September 30, at St. Joan of Arc Parish Center, 5800 Oleatha Avenue.

The events are a come-and-go format, allowing residents to arrive any time between 4:30 and 7 pm, move through informational stations at their own pace, talk directly with project team members, ask questions, and provide feedback.

The updated materials build on previous rounds of public engagement, including feedback provided by residents to earlier drafts of the ZOUP plan. Feedback gathered during these events will help inform continued revisions as the City moves toward a complete draft of the new zoning code and map.

🐾 Meet Goldie! 🐾

If you’ve walked around The Hill, you may have spotted this friendly face! Goldie is a 5-year-old Miniature Australian Labradoodle and proud Hill resident with her owner, Tina Crouppen.

Goldie loves her walks around the neighborhood, meeting dogs, greeting kids and making friends with everyone she meets.
She’s also a local celebrity! Goldie is the official spokesdog for Brown & Crouppen and can be seen on TV commercials and billboards around St. Louis.

Be sure to say hello if you see Goldie out and about on The Hill!

From The Hill to the Big Screen!

Hill resident Paul DeGregorio recently had the unforgettable opportunity to appear alongside Ralph Macchio in the upcoming romantic comedy *Love on The Hill*, filmed right here in our neighborhood! 🇮🇹

From filming at Eovaldi's Deli to sharing stories with Ralph Macchio and dancing in a scene at Piazza Imo, Paul's experience was one he'll never forget. Best of all, you'll spot plenty of familiar Hill faces when the movie premieres next spring!

We can't wait to see *Love on The Hill* and celebrate our neighborhood on the big screen. ❤️
