Right now UCM is celebrating its 15th annual 2017 Whitaker Ivory Perry Park Concert Series. The concert series emerged out of the tragic death of a 10 year old boy, who was mauled to death in the park by a pack of wild dogs in 2001. At the time of the child's death, the park had been abandoned. The grass was over grown and the grounds were covered with litter and glass. But because of the efforts
of many concerned citizens, local congregation members, businesses, neighbors, St. Louis City public officials, the Missouri Arts Council, and the Whitaker Foundation, the park is now the majestic site of the annual concert series.
