Their commitment to skilled craftsmanship, safety, and hard work reflects the values I’ve carried throughout my own career and will bring to the office of St. Francois County Presiding Commissioner.

As Presiding Commissioner, I’ll continue to support responsible investments in our county, encourage economic growth, and make practical decisions that respect taxpayers while creating opportunities for working families and local businesses.

June 10, 1963 – President John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law, prohibiting wage discrimination based on s*x for employees performing substantially equal work. The law was a major victory for working people and reflected decades of advocacy by labor organizations and workers fighting for fairness on the job.

The labor movement has never been about helping just one group of workers.
When we support one another, we all move forward. That's the power of solidarity and the strength of our union.

On June 4, 1912, Massachusetts made labor history by becoming the first state in the nation to pass a minimum wage law. It ranged between $7-$9 a WEEK. This landmark legislation paved the way for the minimum wage protections workers benefit from today. It takes all of our voices to be heard. Don't forget where we came from.
