City Sewing Room is a non-profit organization providing hands on sewing instruction - from pillows to custom pattern designs to fashion wear, from beginner to seasoned seamstress. In addition to classes, you will be able to take advantage of our professional dress forms, sewing machines (including sergers!), Bernina Quilting machine, work tables, fabric remnants, and various sewing tools.

$80.00 will get you 10 hours of studio time and access to all the equipment and instruction you'll need!No project is too large or small, and with our open sewing times, you'll be able to drop in whenever we are here.

Meet Sarah, a high school senior who decided to make her own Homecoming dress. And WOW, did she ever deliver!

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑!
After making keychain wristlets, a Bible cover, zipper pouches, and her first dress this spring, Sarah was ready for a bigger challenge!

When her mom, Cyndi, discovered City Sewing Room on Facebook, they decided to visit. That's where Sarah found the perfect coral-colored fabric, some lace, and another notion for 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 $6 𝐓𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐋! 💕

With creativity, determination, and a willingness to try something new, Sarah turned those materials into a beautiful Homecoming dress!

Her mom shared: "Sarah has blown my skills out of the water! I'm so proud of her for just jumping in and trying!!"

Every week, generous people donate fabric, patterns, notions, yarn, sewing machines, trims, craft supplies, and so much more to City Sewing Room.

Because of that generosity, we can keep an incredible amount of material out of landfills.
In fact, City Sewing Room helps keep about 2,600 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.

Think about that for a moment.

We resell some donations affordably in our Makers’ Mart. Others are used in classes so students can learn and create without the added cost of materials.
