City Sewing Room is a non-profit organization providing hands on sewing instruction - from pillows to custom pattern designs to fashion wear, from beginner to seasoned seamstress. In addition to classes, you will be able to take advantage of our professional dress forms, sewing machines (including sergers!), Bernina Quilting machine, work tables, fabric remnants, and various sewing tools.

$80.00

will get you 10 hours of studio time and access to all the equipment and instruction you'll need!No project is too large or small, and with our open sewing times, you'll be able to drop in whenever we are here.

The 2026 City Sewing Room Pride Sewing Challenge runs from June 1 – June 21. Details:

Here’s the scoop. All materials in these two outfits came from . I really wanted to challenge myself by not buying any new fabric. I was tempted…. But exercised patience and a little creativity to piece these outfits together.

I hid/ cut out some stains, some were curtains, some scraps found in free. Even the thread used to sew - all found at

I’ve very proud to be apart of a non profit that serves our community… and it’s moments like this, when I take time for myself and get to be one of the people I serve. To all my friends and volunteers, co director, instructors, customers, partners, sponsors, donators- I thank you for helping to make moments like this possible❤️💕

We’re hitting rewind to April 29th! ⏪ A plumbing crisis kept us away from our keyboards on that day, but we want to be sure to highlight a cause very close to our hearts.

CSR was proud to support for the second year running! Denim Day is a global campaign born out of a protest against victim-blaming, focusing on sexual assault awareness, education, and survivor support.

To help bring SLU's powerful art display and fashion show to life, our team donated supplies, helped with their denim sculpture, and served as a denim drop-off location.

Thank you to SLU for letting us be a small part of such a massive, impactful message. We're sew inspired by the creativity and conviction of these students! 🧵
