McCoy is making up for lost time.
For most of his life, this 2-year-old Border Collie mix knew life from the end of a chain. Now that he's in foster care, he's discovering all the things he missed out on: toys, soft beds, belly rubs, and the pure joy of being part of a family. Watching McCoy learn how to be a dog has been one of the sweetest things imaginable. At about 48 lbs, McCoy is housebroken, crate trained, and will happily head to his crate when asked. He's good with other dogs, a little shy when meeting new people, and then suddenly you're getting kisses from your newest best friend! One of his favorite recent discoveries is toys. While many dogs take toys for granted, McCoy approaches them like someone who just found out Christmas is real. Every squeaky toy, tennis ball, and game is a brand-new adventure.
McCoy doesn't need much to be happy: a safe home, kind people, and a chance to keep learning what love feels like. In return, he'll give you unwavering loyalty, gratitude, and the sweetest smile from a dog who finally knows he's home.
