Our partnership with Altar'd State and their Mission Monday program has officially come to a close, and we're thrilled to share that we raised more than $11,000 to support Variety Kids across the St. Louis region!

This key role will help support the employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and more, helping foster a positive, mission-driven workplace that powers our impact for local children with disabilities.

We're looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused professional with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 1–3 years of HR-related experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a passion for supporting others.

For Clara and her family, the right adaptive equipment meant more than just support, it meant greater comfort, safety, and the ability to experience more of the world together. 💛

During Mobility Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the life-changing impact mobility equipment can have for children with disabilities and their families. From adaptive car seats to gait trainers, to van adaptations and communication devices, access to the right equipment opens doors to greater independence, inclusion, and possibility.

We’re grateful to be celebrating our continued partnership with the Productive Living Board of St. Louis County in FY27! 🎉

At its May board meeting, PLB approved a $347,760 investment in Variety’s Adaptive Equipment and Assistive Technology program! We’re incredibly thankful for this partnership and the lasting impact this funding will have for future Variety kids like Julian, helping create more opportunities for independence, confidence, and joy.

In total, PLB approved $31,787,562 in community investments for FY27, supporting more than 4,600 individuals and families across St. Louis County through services that help residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independently and fully participate in their communities.

Members of their team stopped by to volunteer their time organizing supplies, sorting t-shirts, and helping us prepare for an unforgettable camp experience for our Variety Kids. We’re so grateful for their time, energy, and support in making the magic of camp possible!

Meet Variety Kid, Kevin! ❤️🗣️

At just 3 years old, Kevin is already showing the world how powerful communication can be. Living with a metabolic disorder, Kevin uses an augmentative communication device to express himself at home and at school, and it’s opening up a whole new world of possibilities for him.

Kevin’s family shared,
“This communication device has truly given Kevin a voice. He receptively identifies colors, shapes, numbers, and letters on his device. It has opened up new possibilities for building his vocabulary and language skills.”

At Variety, we believe every child deserves the tools to be heard, understood, and included. For Kevin, this communication device is more than a piece of equipment: it’s confidence, connection, and a voice all his own. ❤️🎩
