At Restoration House STL, we believe lasting change happens through relationships. Our volunteers help create safe spaces, meet practical needs, show up consistently, and remind young adults that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

This week: Two Dream Builders came to my home on Sunday. Another young man came for dinner Tuesday.

Simple meals. Powerful moments.

Why this matters: When you invite someone home, you say: “You belong. You matter. You’re not alone.”

The Dream Builders program teaches skills + employment pathways. But it’s really teaching something deeper: What genuine community looks like. That you can be fully known and valued.

We’re not created to be alone. We’re designed for fellowship. 💙

We had an amazing afternoon serving our neighbors at the Community Cookout at the Melvin!

We were able to share food, fun, and school supplies with our community, all thanks to our amazing volunteers. BIG thanks to our friends from Jubilee Church Sunset Hills for joining us!

From rain ponchos and hygiene essentials to baby supplies and grocery gift cards, there are so many practical ways you can come alongside the young adults in our community.

Street outreach in North City this week = PURE JOY.

We visited "old friends" we've built relationships with through consistent visits.
When we showed up? They cheered. 🎉

Not just for the food (thanks to Herrell's Market!), but because they saw familiar faces who came back.
Who remembered them.
Who care.

This is what street outreach really is: friendship that shows up consistently.

People experiencing homelessness need to know someone remembers them. That someone cares. That they matter.

Five years ago, Restoration House STL opened the doors to our Success Center — and what a five years it’s been!

Since then, our community has shown up for each other in ways we could only have hoped for: 5,700+ bus tickets given, 9,500 meals served, 600+ birth certificates and 800+ state IDs acquired, 1,400+ case management services provided, 5,500+ visitors welcomed to The Rock, 630+ loads of laundry washed, and over 1,000 visits to our clothing and hygiene pantry.

Behind every one of those numbers is a neighbor who found a little more stability, a little more dignity, and a little more hope. That’s what “on mission every day” means to us.

Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and partners who made these five years possible. We couldn’t do this without you. Here’s to what’s next! 💛

What an amazing day! Our community came together for fresh haircuts with Kurtis York, owner of Kuts by Kurtis Barber Shop!

And here's the beautiful part: Kurtis is now our newest community partner and will be coming ONCE A MONTH to give free haircuts!

We watched transformations happen today—not just in appearance, but in how people felt about themselves. In the barber chair, conversations opened up. Confidence grew. Connection deepened.

Monthly care. Regular partnership. Consistent presence. This is what our community deserves, and we're so grateful to Kurtis for committing to show up, month after month.
