We provide supportive services to persons of all ages who are affected by severe burn injuries. Burns Recovered (BRSG) provides support for burn survivors and their loved ones as well as community outreach to increase burn awareness and prevent burn injuries. Our key program is a residential summer camp experience for children and teens who have experienced severe burn injuries. Approximately 75 b
urn-injured children enjoy an unforgettable week of water sports, zip lining, crafts, fishing, archery and more at the beautiful Camp Sabra in the Lake of the Ozarks; camp is staffed with 40+ volunteers including fire fighters, paramedics, medical providers and adult burn survivors, as campers learn to “love the skin they’re in.”
In addition to camp, BRSG also provides: peer support meetings for burn survivors in St. Louis and Columbia; community support events including bowling parties, family picnics, and holiday parties; aid to burn survivors with treatment and rehabilitation; school/work re-entry support; prevention/education programs; an emergency assistance fund; and a scholarship fund. Working together, we are dedicated to providing support for burn survivors and their families, helping with the prevention and reduction of pain and suffering caused by burns and burn-related injuries.
