The WAKF is very happy to once again provide space at 21 O'Fallon St for The Will Flores Fund's annual The Art of Giving fund raiser. This is a marvelous display/sale of affordable art. It is free and open to the public from 2PM to 4:30PM this Sunday, September 15th. Come and Enjoy!

For the past two years the WAKF has partnered with Urban Harvest Food Roof. We have had Urban Harvest use our roof as a satellite space to grow fresh food which is donated to St. Patrick's Center. In 2017 they harvested 675 pounds of food, converted into 562 meals, valued at $2,922.77. This has been a delightful partnership which we are looking forward to expanding in this year.

Opps, big mistake. Since 1998 4 million dollars has been given in each area, St. Louis and Walnut Creek, therefore totaling 8 Million.

The WAKF first gave out grants in 1998. Since then, through 2017, we have given out more than 4 Million dollars in grants, primarily to organizations in the St. Louis, MO and Walnut Creek, CA areas. More to come.

The WAKF is once again very pleased to host the annual event to benefit the Will Flores Fund. The Art of Giving is an exhibition and very affordable sale of works by local artists in various media. The event is free and open to the public. It will be at our building at 21 O'Fallon St. from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, September 17th. Do stop by.

In support of healthy living, connectivity and historic preservation, the WAKF is pleased to announce it is offering a challenge grant up to $10,000 to match donors' amounts to the Save the Meramec Route 66 Bridge campaign from now through September 30, 2016. The St. Louis LGBT Black Pride Committee held its first "Cards for a Cause: Spades Tournament" fundraising event at the William A Kerr Foundation LLC on Saturday evening at the riverfront downtown.

The evening offered the aforementioned card competition, 50/50 raffle, and a cash bar.

Founded in 1999, St. Louis Black Pride is the nation's second oldest Black Pride Organization in the United States. Money raised from this weekend's event helps to fund the upcoming St. Louis Black Pride Weekend Celebration August 5-7, 2016. For more info check out: http://www.blackpridestl.org/
