At the Edge of Everything Else is a weekly social space for artists, architects, urbanists, and others on the “critical spatial practice” spectrum. The series will run from September 13 to December 6. A casual forum to share projects and exchange ideas, each event will hover between social club and public program, anchored by a few brief presentations but mainly dedicated to conversation. These pu
blic events are free and open to anyone working at the intersection of cultural and spatial production. The name is poached from Esther Choi and Marikka Trotter’s 2010 Architecture at the Edge of Everything Else. At the Edge of Everything Else privileges no one departure point, instead inhabiting an interdisciplinary center space defined by its entanglement the fields at its periphery: art, architecture, urban theory, cultural geography, landscape, and community development (to name a few). At the Edge of Everything Else will be held Wednesdays at Blank Space (2847 Cherokee St) from 6-9pm (with two exceptions, see the full schedule below for details). All events are free and BYOB (the Blank Space bar will be closed). If you want to keep up as the series unfolds, there is an e-mail list you can subscribe to: https://goo.gl/forms/rmjjgvu5EsfonLvl1
