As a sober living home, it offers a serene, beautiful space for women to rebuild their lives free from addiction. Studies show that the relapse rate is high when addicts return to the environments they were livin

g in before getting help. Sober-living homes significantly reduce the rate of relapse. Gratitude House serves as a critical foundation for long-term sobriety. Grounded in the principles of the 12-step program, Gratitude House fosters a spiritual journey centered on service, gratitude, and personal growth. The home provides a stable, nurturing environment where residents can focus on recovery, participate in fellowship, and gain the tools necessary for independent living. Opened in the spring of 2024, Gratitude House is nestled in a peaceful suburban neighborhood on a one acre lot and can accommodate up to eight women. Residents must have 30 days of sobriety before moving in, and they are expected to maintain their recovery through active participation in the 12-step program. They must:
- Stay sober
- Attend daily 12-step meetings and work with a sponsor
- Work or attend school for at least 20 hours a week
- Contribute positively to the household
- Be an ambassador for Gratitude House, helping to serve others

Rent is $125 per week and includes room and utilities, with coffee and snacks always available. Residents can purchase their own groceries and prepare meals in the shared kitchen. Gratitude House stands out as the only sober living home for women in St. Louis County. It is more than a place to stay—it offers a comprehensive approach to recovery, combining structure with compassion. The home features a live-in house manager, a woman with decades of sobriety, who provides constant support. Additionally, two ADORABLE therapy dogs bring comfort and emotional stability to the women living in the house. You are not alone, and we are here to help.

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Today, we honor the women who gave us life and loved us, even at our worst.

At Gratitude House, Mother’s Day holds both beauty and complexity. The women in our home are daughters learning to heal. Some are mothers working to rebuild their lives. Others are grieving relationships strained or lost to addiction.

We also see the miracles of recovery repair broken relationships and reunite families.

We are grateful for the role we get to play in helping women build lives beyond their wildest dreams.

Following last year’s sold-out event, we are honored to announce that Trudy Busch Valentine will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Gratitude Giddyup Gala on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the iconic Casa Loma Ballroom.

A St. Louis native, Busch Valentine is the daughter of August Anheuser “Gussie” Busch Jr., who led Anheuser-Busch’s rise as a global company, and she grew up at the historic Grant's Farm. Today, she and her family continue that legacy on their Missouri ranch, raising bison, cattle, and horses; fitting for the spirit of the Giddyup!

Busch Valentine’s civic involvement and philanthropic work unites three passions in her life: children, nursing, and education. In recognition of her leadership and dedication, Saint Louis University named its School of Nursing in her honor in 2019.

In 2020, Busch Valentine experienced the devastating loss of her son, Matt, to an opioid overdose after 499 days of sobriety. This devastating loss after 499 days of sobriety, motivated her to run for the United States Senate. Trudy believes strongly in ending the shame and stigma of addiction and mental health.

We are grateful for her support for Gratitude House’s unique educational model as the foundation for our elevated approach to aftercare. She understands that recovery is not simply about abstinence, but about learning, developing the emotional and cognitive skills that make long-term sobriety possible.

We are deeply grateful for her willingness to share her story with our community.
