SAVE JAMES BROADNAX

Texas is about to execute a man who didn’t kill anyone. A man who was judged by an all white jury at the age of 19. A man who is remorseful and belongs to our community.

We need to save James Broadnax from ex*****on on April 30th.

James is a man of Faith, a mentor and a lover of poetry, rap, and art.

Repost from Action St. Louis

The St. Louis Metro Police Department (SLMPD) and the Board of Police Commissioners are demanding $250-$333 MILLION of our tax dollars from St. Louis City’s budget.

If approved, this egregious budget would take away the social services that make this city function, to fund the #1 most deadly police force per capita!

This means our City won’t have funding for rebuilding North City, violence prevention programs, fixing potholes, youth programming, and so much more.

Mayor Cara Spencer has already stated there will be MASS layoffs if this budget passes...meaning real St. Louisans will lose their income so SLMPD can...fix their basement?

That’s not right! If this budget passes, our city will fail!

If you love St. Louis we need you in this room with us.

This past Thursday, the MO House Corrections Committee held a hearing on HB's 1616 & 2832, concerning oversight and accountability of the MoDOC (prison facilities).

There seems to be a disconnect in how the prison administration is touting their "amazing" programs, rehabilitation, and change in culture. Meanwhile, THERE ARE REAL ISSUES OF SUFFERING, VIOLENCE AND DISREGARD OF HUMANITY HAPPENING DAILY INSIDE OF THE PRISONS IN THIS STATE.

We need oversight and accountability, for everyone inside of Missouri prisons, including staff. Anytime a bureaucracy is allowed to oversee itself, there will be violations.

Did you know that the year 2025 saw 119 losses of life of individuals housed in Missouri prisons? That is an average of ten people dying in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections annually, with little to zero accountability by state elected officials - who are legally obligated to oversee every department within the state and little media attention and investigation. We will continue to uplift these tragedies and call for accountability, transparency, and oversight of the Missouri prison system.

In the 2026 Missouri Legislative session two policy proposals have been introduced that, if passed, will create easier, faster, and increased pathways to charge youth as adults and send youth to adult prison.

We are partnering with other grassroots organizations to amplify the harm that is inevitable with the passage of SB888 and HB2498. We are urging formerly incarcerated ppl who were under 18 when when convicted to join us on March 4th at the Missouri State Capitol for Legislative Advocacy Day 2026 - Missouri's Day of Empathy to speak specifically about the implications of paving an easier path to certification of youth to the adult court system.

This amazing reporting from The Marshall Project illustrates why we fight so vehemently against the death penalty system. Lifetimes of trauma, abuse, and neglect go ignored by the same systems that later deems their lives expendable.

Dozens of Teens Who Spent Time at Abusive Florida Reform School Ended Up on Death Row.
At least 34 boys from the Dozier School were later sentenced to death. Did abuse make them more violent?
