FWCA continues to extend its congratulations to our youth, Kyra G., as she is honored by the State of Tennessee for her work as a legislative intern this semester. Kyra graduates from LeMoyne-Owen College this May with a degree in Sociology.

FWCA would like to extend its sincerest congratulations to our Young Adult participant Kyra G. on starting her internship with the Tennessee General Assembly! This 16-week internship provides Tennessee College and University students with an opportunity to work and learn in a hands on legislative environment. Each year only 70 to 80 students from around the state participate in this program to learn about leadership responsibilities as well as develop legislative process skills. The interns assist legislative offices with their legislative activities and work functions. We are proud of you Kyra!

Thank you to all those who answer the call for assisting families during this historic time. FWCA sends a special thank you to St. Michael’s Temple Church, Agape Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and other community and locally-based organizations for their considerable contributions to the families of our Early Explorers Child Development Academy youth and others who have been recently impacted due to a loss of benefits. We appreciate your call to action and getting these families the help we all deserve in times of need.
