Emmy Award–winning storyteller Bobby Norfolk returns to the Mirowitz Center, joined by Rabbi Susan Talve and Rabbi James Stone Goodman of Central Reform Congregation. Through storytelling, music, humor and conversation, they will explore what it means to live with compassion for one another, our communities, and the world around us. Drawing on timeless wisdom and the connections we share, this special program invites us to consider how empathy, kindness and caring can shape the way we live and interact with all beings.

In partnership with Senior Planet from AARP, Trainer Jim Salih introduced a packed room of Mirowitz Center learners to a variety of online marketplaces where they can sell everything from collectibles to handmade crafts! Jim also shared practical tips and best practices for spotting scams and staying safe while selling online.

A little kindness goes a long way! 💌 Today at the Mirowitz Center, we gathered for another “Kindness Cards” session, hosted by Anna Lehrke. Participants put pen to paper to send thoughtful messages to people who hold a special place in their lives.

With cards and postage stamps provided, everyone had what they needed to share a little happiness through the mail.

The Mirowitz Center hosted a program at The J - Marilyn Fox Building featuring a thought-provoking panel discussion on the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum’s exhibit, N***s Next Door: St. Louis Faces N***sm in the 1930s. The discussion explored the presence of N**i support right in our own backyard during the 1930s, examining how some local citizens embraced extremist and antisemitic ideologies while others courageously resisted them.

Panelists included Amy Moorman, Director of Archives and Collections, and Robb Nelson, Exhibitions Coordinator, both from the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum, as well as Emily Jaycox, Special Project Historian at the Missouri Historical Society. Jordan Palmer, Chief Digital Content Officer for the St. Louis Jewish Light, served as moderator.

Part of the Mirowitz Center’s Fighting Bigotry & Hatred series, this program was co-sponsored by ADL - Heartland, AJC - American Jewish Committee, Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis (JCRC), Jewish Federation of St. Louis, National Council of Jewish Women St. Louis, St. Louis Jewish Light, and St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum.
