Please join us in welcoming Casey Humphrey and Kristen Kenney to the St. Louis Actuaries Club leadership team!

Casey joins us from MetLife and will be serving as Treasurer in 2024. Kristen joins us from RGA and will be serving as Secretary.

Stephan Mathys and Alex Tripp will continue on in the SLAC leadership team as President and Vice President.

Please join us for the Fall 2023 St. Louis Actuaries Club meeting hosted at Maryville University on Thursday, November 16th.

Ed Lee, Director of Professionalism for the Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline (ABCD), will join us virtually to speak about the ABCD and professionalism. You can earn up to 1.2 continuing education credits as an organized activity and professionalism by attending the meeting.

A buffet selection will be served for lunch. A limited quantity of gluten-free and/or vegetarian options will be available.

We are currently accepting applicants for our first time exam taker reimbursement program.

If selected, you will receive full reimbursement of your $250 registration fee for exam P/1 or FM/2. To qualify, you must be sitting for your first actuarial exam and work/reside/study in the greater St. Louis area.

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20th from 12-2PM at Maggiano’s Little Italy! Lunch will be followed by a presentation on communication skills from Mitchell Stephenson and Stephan Mathys.

We are currently accepting payments for 2023 membership dues on our website! See link in bio.

We offer three levels of membership:

General membership - $30: For professionals employed in a full or part-time actuarial role in the greater St. Louis area

Retiree membership - $25: For retired professionals previously employed in an actuarial role

Student membership - $1: For undergraduate or graduate students in an actuarial or related program, living, working, or studying in the greater St. Louis area

As a member, you will receive:
- Email communications about SLAC events and other information
- Invitation to attend bi-yearly luncheons with engaging speakers
- Discounted registration to SLAC events
- Networking opportunities through happy hours and other member events
- Opportunity to register for the annual SLAC golf tournament

Your membership dues will go towards supporting exam and education expenses of actuarial students and funding continuing education and networking opportunities for St. Louis actuaries.

Our website is officially live!

We’ve been working hard over the last few months to make some exciting updates at the St. Louis Actuaries Club, and we’re very excited to share them with you.

The first major update is our brand new website where you can get info on SLAC, pay membership dues, see upcoming events, etc.

If you’re a student, check out the “Student Support” page for some helpful resources and a sneak peek into our new exam reimbursement program.

And since we’re all actuaries and love graphs, check out the great spike in engagement we’ve seen so far on the website release date!
