On October 18th, we’ll come together to walk in honor of Jean, for Joe, and for everyone living with Type 1 Diabetes. This walk means so much to our family—not only because of Jean’s lifelong dedication to finding a cure, but because we know how deeply T1D has impacted our family and so many others.

💙 We’re Walking for Jean. We’re Walking for Joe. We’re Walking for a Cure. 💙

Some journeys begin with a single step.

For Jean Kuczka, that journey began in 2003, when her youngest son, Joe, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 10 years old.

For the next 19 years, Jean poured her heart into the fight against T1D. She raised money, raised awareness, participated in walks and rides, and brought countless people together in hopes of one day seeing a cure for her son and for everyone living with this disease.

Jean was preparing for her 15th JDRF Ride when her life was tragically taken on October 24, 2022, while protecting her students during the school shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.

But Jean’s mission didn’t end that day.

It continues with us.

This year, the Jean Kuczka Foundation is proud to return to where Jean’s journey began — the walk. 👟

We are participating in the Breakthrough T1D Walk to honor Jean’s commitment to finding a cure and continue supporting the work she believed in so deeply.

Today, on Mother’s Day, we honor the beautiful legacy of our mom, Jean Kuczka — a woman whose kindness, strength, faith, and love continue to guide us every day.

She dedicated her life to uplifting others, teaching with compassion, and leading by example. Though she is deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every life she touched, every lesson she shared, and every act of love inspired by her memory.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate not only the incredible mother she was, but also the lasting impact she made on her family, community, and all who knew her.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. 🩵

🎃 It’s almost here! 🎃
The 3rd Annual Jean Kuczka Foundation Trivia Night is THIS SATURDAY, October 25th!

📍 T.A.S.K. Gymnasium – 980 Horan Dr, Fenton, MO
🕠 Doors open: 5:30 PM
🧠 Trivia starts: 7:00 PM sharp

Arrive early to check out the raffle baskets & auction items, grab drinks, and get settled in!

🎟️ Basket Raffle tickets are $20 for a “wingspan” (cash or Venmo accepted).

💰 50/50 Raffle: $20 per ticket — pick a number 1–100! If your number is the last one called, you win half the pot (up to $1,000 if sold out!) This game is always such a hit! 🙌

👻 Halloween theme! There’s a prize for best costume, so come dressed to impress!

🍿 Bring snacks to share with your team (but no outside alcohol, per T.A.S.K. rules).

We still have a few tables open — it’s not too late to join!
