What an amazing weekend for the youth at both detention centers! The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s St. Louis County chapter (Tau Theta Lambda) hosted the birthday social on Friday. While Chaplain Gray and Chaplain Samson celebrated the success of their first book club on Saturday. At the City detention center, Chaplain Malloyd celebrated the completion of “chess with a chaplain” on Saturday also. ECM is forever thankful to ALL who donate and volunteer so that these type of activities and events can continue to have a positive impact on our youth.

ECM was extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to host TeDashii, the grammy award winning Christian Rap Artist at both Juvenile Detention Centers, on Saturday. It was invigorating to say the least as TeDashii seized the opportunity to convey and reinforce a profound message of self worth and value to each and every child in attendance. I’m forever grateful to BOOST Radio for bringing this faith-filled message to fruition.

It was ECM Sunday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves! Shout out to Parish Ambassador Kathy Tate for hosting Executive Director Nathan Ivy and Chaplain Roy Samson.

This past weekend was wonderfully packed with exciting events! Friday's birthday social at the County JDC was hosted by the dedicated volunteers from The Church of St. Michael & St. George. Youth were also very excited to attend the motivational visioning session on Saturday, with Mr. Steven Gilliam and his Pastor, Anthony Trice. On Sunday, Saint Timothy's welcomed ECM's Executive Director, Nathan Ivy and Chaplain Jerneice Gray to share with the congregation. ECM greatly appreciates The Rev. Meghan Ryan and Saint St. Timothy's Creve Coeur for the generous donation!!!

The Power Station rock group sang: "Some Like it Hot," and apparently ECM does too! The month of September is off to a sizzling start with several Chaplain-led events, in addition to the volunteer hosted birthday socials. See the flyer for more details.

ECM continues to advance the spiritual care of children impacted by the Juvenile Justice System! We want to thank Minister Nelson and volunteers from Trinity Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, for hosting an evening worship service this past Friday at the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention.

It's been an awesome August thus far! Residents at both Detention Centers enjoyed birthday socials, hosted by ECM's Board at the City JDC. While St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Carondelet, hosted the County's JDC. Kudos to Leanne Rahe, a stellar Board member and Parish Ambassador, for her coordination of both socials alongside our Chaplains!
