Today we honor Dolly Parton, the legacy she built, and how the world is better place because of her.
Rudis recognizes that many of the things she stood for mirror the principles the club tries to embody.
The passing of Dolly Parton marks the loss of someone who represented so much more than music and entertainment. Throughout her life, Dolly stood for kindness, generosity, acceptance, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to be exactly who they are.
Those values resonate deeply with us at Rudis Leather Society.
Dolly showed that you can be unapologetically yourself while still making room for everyone else. She used her voice and her success to give back, supported people and communities without demanding recognition in return, and consistently led with compassion rather than judgment.
In many ways, that same philosophy is at the heart of what Rudis strives to be.
We believe in chosen family. We believe in creating spaces where people can show up authentically and know they belong. We believe that community means taking care of one another, giving back when we can, and standing beside people who are too often told that they should be something other than themselves.
Dolly once said, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”
There may be no better sentiment for the leather community.
As we remember Dolly and everything she gave to the world, we hope to continue carrying those values into our own corner of it: be yourself, love people, give back, and leave your community a little better than you found it.
Thank you, Dolly. ❤️
