We stand in solidarity with the people of Israel. Join us for a community gathering in support of our brothers and sisters impacted by this weekend's devastating attacks.

On October 7, 2023, during the holiday of Shmini Atzeret, Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented attack on Israel from Gaza, firing thousands of rockets, breaching the country’s borders, with significant numbers killed and hospitalized. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel was at war to defend itself and gave the order for the IDF to commence "Operation Swords of Iron.”

Jewish Federations are responding, working with our core partners to support victims of terror, help rebuild damaged infrastructure, and address the unprecedent levels of trauma caused by this horrific attack. Now, more than ever, they need your support. Israel will prevail and the Jewish people will stand together as we always do. Am Yisrael Chai.

Dear Rubinites,

One of life’s most valuable gifts is a transformative shared experience, one that happens when being in community with others. As a member of the “Rubinite” family, you know this firsthand and also know how the generosity of Pam and Ron Rubin transforms community.

We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Pam and Ron and want you to be among the first to know that Pam and Ron have made the decision to sunset The Rubin Israel Experience. They want to “go out on top” and feel tremendously proud of what they – and you – have accomplished with this program.

For over a decade, Pam and Ron Rubin have been changing lives. Through their dedication and investment in people like you, people who have the ability to step up and create real transformational change in our community, they have turned vision into action creating incredible impact in our St. Louis Jewish community.

Pam and Ron’s wish for this initiative was to build future leaders for our Jewish community. Many of you have taken on significant leadership roles or have brought new rituals and learnings into your own families. Pam and Ron have always been so proud of their “Rubinites”, as is our entire Jewish community.

We should all take great pride in the impact The Rubin Israel Experience has had and will continue to have for years to come. YOU are the legacy of this experience; YOU have the ability to affect change and YOU have the tools to hand down to future generations.

While The Rubin Israel Experience may be ending, we hope that you will continue to use this experience as part of your larger journey in engaging with your own Jewish identities, creating deeper connections to Israel and developing or taking on leadership roles in our community.

We hope The Rubin Israel Experience has inspired you, and others, to help us come up with the NEXT big idea that will help transform individuals and this community. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you to do so, and to continue to work with you on your journey.

With deep gratitude,

Karen Sher
Vice President, Community Impact

The most recent Rubin Israel Experience participants met tonight with Federation leadership and Pam and Ron Rubin to reconnect, share their experiences on this life changing trip and share their gratitude and appreciation for the gift the Rubins gave each participant. It was an incredibly meaningful and touching evening to witness a deep bond between a group of people who may not have otherwise met and hear the impact of this experience on each of their lives.
