Kisoga is a small and vulnerable village found in Bulima Town Council, Masindi District- Western Uganda. It has a growing population of close to 300 people and the main economic activity is agriculture. In October 2020, a community toilet was under construction and with the support of Bishop Lawrence .Wooten and Evangelist Shirley Wooten, it was completed. A discussion on the possibility of adopti
ng kisoga village began. Adopting kisoga village meant empowering peasant farmers, widows, the elderly, youth and children out of social marginalization, isolation and discrimination through income generating initiatives and formal education necessary to lead a resilient, healthy and meaningful economic life. Based on the findings, a verbal agreement was made to go on four fronts;
• Provision of food
• Provision of land for farming
• Provision of seeds
• Safe water. In late November 2020, Bishop Lawrence.M.Wooten and Evangelist Shirley Wooten from Williams temple Church of God in Christ, St Louis Missouri -USA adopted kisoga village. Due to the many visits and support to households and orphans in Uganda over the past many years by Bishop Lawrence.M.Wooten SR, it was decided that kisoga village becomes ‘A visit to the village we adopted-Uganda Bishop Lawrence.M.Wooten SR.
‘ A visit to the village we adopted-Uganda Bishop Lawrence.M.Wooten is a 5-year charter with the main goal of enabling kisoga village vulnerable members meet their social economic potential through improved agriculture practice, poultry farming, access to safe water, access to education and fight against hunger and poverty so that they can achieve a meaningful economic life. The vision was created by the members of kisoga village and we will support their vision through a 5-year charter.
