Shirley Bradley Price LeFlore, who served as the Poet Laureate Emeritus of St. Louis, passed away on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019, after bravely battling kidney disease. She left a remarkable legacy in St. Louis as a cultural activist, educator, performing artist, psychologist, and mentor to many artists and students. To honor her memory, her daughters—Hope Lynne Price-Lindsay, Jacie Wynn Price, and Lyah Beth LeFlore-Ituen—founded the Shirley Bradley LeFlore Foundation (SBLF), a nonprofit organization in St. Louis, on January 21, 2020. This year, we are celebrating our fifth anniversary with a variety of exciting literary events and partnerships.

We invite you to check out SBLF’s website at https://sblfoundation.org and sign up for our newsletter. We appreciate your love, friendship, and support, and we hope you will get involved in helping SBLF to meet its mission to foster literary excellence in St. Louis.
