Beyond Bethesda: Rosemary Oliver
At Bethesda, we are incredibly proud of the many ways our Women’s Board members make a difference, not only within Bethesda, but throughout our community and beyond.
This month, we’re highlighting Rosemary Oliver, whose passion for faith, art, and serving others has inspired her meaningful volunteer work with women at the St. Louis County Jail.
After moving to St. Louis in 1980, Rosemary became involved with Central Presbyterian Church and joined their mission team, traveling around the world to serve others. One of those experiences brought her to a prison in Potosi, Missouri, where she was deeply moved by the people she met and the opportunity to share her faith.
That experience inspired Rosemary to begin volunteering at the St. Louis County Jail, where she combines two things she loves most: art and Jesus.
Rosemary created a program that brings together Bible study and art projects, creating a space where participants can learn, create, and connect. As Rosemary puts it, “We make it interesting and fun and real.”
And for Rosemary, the joy is showing up. She says she gets the “joy of going.”
We are so proud of Rosemary and all of our incredible Bethesda Women’s Board members who continue to make an impact both Beyond Bethesda and throughout our community.

Tea, treats & togetherness!🫖🌸

Members of the Bethesda Women’s Board hosted a High Tea for Orchard ladies interested in learning about the Bethesda Women’s Board.

The afternoon was filled with delicious tea, sweet treats, savory finger sandwiches, lots of laughter and great conversation. 💗

The residents of Bethesda Barclay House put their hearts into making a difference, coming together to design and create their very own T-shirts and raising an incredible $1,078.43 in support of the Bethesda Health Group Foundation.

We are so grateful to the residents of Bethesda Barclay House for turning their creativity and generosity into meaningful support for Bethesda’s mission.

Put your heart into something that makes a difference! ❤️

The residents of Bethesda Barclay House decided they wanted to make a difference. They rolled up their sleeves, got creative, and designed, organized, and created their very own T-shirts to help raise funds for the Bethesda Health Group Foundation.

We couldn’t love this show of support more. Their creativity, generosity, and commitment to helping fellow residents truly embody what it means to be part of the Bethesda community.

The talented residents of Bethesda Gardens put their baking skills to work for a special bake sale benefiting Hearts for Our Homes. From sweet treats to smiling faces, every purchase helped support our campaign to ensure Bethesda's most financially vulnerable residents can continue to receive the care they need and remain in the place they call home.
