For five generations, the Brockmeier family has answered the call to serve. A career long brother in the International Association of Fire Fighters and a St. Louis Fire Department Captain, Jake Brockmeier follows in the footsteps of his father, grandfathers, and great-grandfather, who all served as firefighters. His great-grandfather paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, leaving behind a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and commitment to others.

Today, that same family is facing one of the most difficult challenges of their lives.
Captain Brockmeier's daughter is recovering from a serious automobile accident that left her with significant injuries. Although she survived, she now faces a lengthy journey that will include ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and recovery. The family remains grateful for the support they have received and optimistic about the road ahead.

The events that led to that recovery began when Captain Brockmeier, while off duty, received a Life360 notification indicating his daughter had been involved in a severe crash. He immediately responded to the scene, where he was confronted with every parent's worst nightmare.

Before emergency crews arrived, Captain Brockmeier put his years of training and experience to work, providing lifesaving care to his daughter. His actions in those critical moments helped save her life.
Firefighters dedicate their careers to protecting others during their most difficult moments. In this case, a veteran firefighter found himself fighting to save someone even closer to home.
Please consider supporting Captain Brockmeier's daughter as she continues her recovery through the GoFundMe link below. Every donation, share, and prayer is sincerely appreciated.

Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today.

Congratulations to Local 73 Auxiliary on being selected as a beneficiary of the 2026 Bourbon for Badges event put on by the St. Louis Hero Network. Well deserved!

Thank you just doesn't seem like quite enough to say, but we are eternally grateful for the St. Louis Hero Network for naming us as a benefactor from Bourbon for Badges 2026. Today we were honored to accept this check. This donation will enable us to do even more for the St. Louis first responder community. Thank you also to Ballpark Village for hosting the presentation.
